ORDER:
The Joint Director. Directorate of Ex-servicemen Welfare. has stated that the
Government of India have recognised the Diploma Course in Civil Engineering
conducted at the College of Military Engineering, Pune. for appointment to
subordinate posts under Central Government. The above course is yet to be
recognised by the Government of Tamil Nadu for appointment purposes. Hence. the
Ex-servicemen who obtained Diploma in Civil Engineering in the College of Military
Engineering, Pune, are deprived of getting employment assistance under State
Government Departments. He has therefore, requested the Government to recognise
the Diploma in Civil Engineering awarded by the College of Military Engineering,
Pune. for appointment to the posts for which Diploma in Civil Engineering is
essential.
2. The request for recognition of the course was placed before the Committee
constituted for the purpose in G.O.Ms.No.44I, Personnel and Administrative Reforms
Department. dated 20.12.93 under the Chairmanship of Chairman, Tamil Nadu Public
Service Commission. for its recommendation.
3. The Committee in its meeting held on 3.1.96 has resolved to recommend to
Government to recognise the Diploma in Civil Engineering awarded by the College of
Military Engineering at Pune for the purpose of recruitment to posts in Public
Services. The Chief Engineer (General), Public Works Department, has also accepted
the recommendations of the Committee.
4. The Government, after careful examination, have decided to accept the
recommendation of the Committee and accordingly direct that the Diploma in Civil
Engineering awarded by the College of Military Engineering, Pune, be recognised f.Qr
the purpose of recruitment of Ex-Servicemen to posts in Public Services.
