W. C. A. was held for the first time in tiie Green Room in the Draper hall. Miss Alice Gooding, instructor in biology, and Emily Williams, '28, gave reports of the Student-Faculty week-end at Elmira lo which they were delegates. Some of the points discussed at the conference were: "Is a closer, more friendly relation between students and faculty" desirable ?" " W h a t is the Y. W. G. A. on your campus? Is it an organization with a purpose or an association with an ideal?" "If V. W. C. A. is not accomplishing its purpose shall we abolish it or try to improve it?'' "Does Y, W. C. A. do things which could not be done as well by other college organizations?" These questions offer much food for thought and general discussion followed the reports. PASTOR WILL SPEAK AT VESPER SERVICES Sunday at the Academy of the Holy Name. It will follow the nine o'clock mass at the greater grotto in the Vincention high school, which Newman club members may attend by the special permission of the Rev. William Charles, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul's parish. Mr. Leo M. Doody, the commissioner of public charities in Albany county, will be the speaker at the breakfast. Mr. Doody is a leader in Democratic circles and was formerly interested in newspaper work. The committee for the breakfast is: Margretta Smythe, '28, chairman; Helen Delay, ' 2 8 ; Loretta Lindacker, '29; Dorothy Doyle, '29; Eclythe Bevan, '.30; Alice Corning, '30; and Anne Moore, '.30. CLASS MAY CONDUCT MURDER MOCK TRIAL "Plans a.'.1 still under way for the mocktrial of Government 2 class," Dr. Hutchison, head of the government department, said today. "The students feel that they would like to attempt a murder trial this year and I have put it entirely in their hands. This is the fifth year that a trial has been held in this course and has proven successful each time. I intend to continue it as a set feature of the course for I feel that it trains the student in legal procedure and initiative more than lectures would do." 7 FROSH ENROLL AS DRAMATIC AND ART COUNCIL CANDIDATES Seven freshmen have enrolled as candidates for election to the Dramatic and .Ait council, J.
