INDIAN LANE BROADCAST CLUB MEMBERS! Do you want to be a better broadcaster? Do you ever feel nervous when you are reporting, talking in class, or giving an oral report? Do you like public speaking and wish you could do more of it? Do you think you might someday want to be a reporter, teacher, lawyer, or anyone who does public speaking as part of his or her career? IF YOU SAID to any of these questions, then the Public Speaking Workshop program is for you! I am Mary Ellen Maatman, an Indian Lane parent (Rose Schwartz’s mom). Besides being Rose’s mom, I am a lawyer and law professor. I will conduct a fun, activities-based workshop series that will help you become a better, and more comfortable, public speaker. At the end of the year, we will do a mock trial just like the Snow White, Ugly Duckling, and Aristocats cases you have seen on stage in past years. Workshops will be scheduled on selected Monday mornings at 8:00 a.m. (before school), when we will meet in the library. If you want to participate, have a parent sign you up by submitting this slip to the office. Please do so no later than Monday, October 14. I hope to have our first meeting about a week after that date. ___________________________________________ will participate in the Public Speaking Workshop Series. ____________________________________________________ (parent’s signature) Questions?
