JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for a significant portion of the information system process in assigned
areas including system analysis, file design, programming, and system interface.

1.
Participate in general data warehouse design, data reporting architectures and
processes, data source extract, transform and load (ETL) design and
processes, reporting toolset configuration, implementation, and maintenance.
2.
Design and implement logical and physical models, staging areas, and
operation of all data stores for the data warehouse; design and implement
complex ETL processes; design and develop end-user reporting systems and
procedures.

3.
Work with data users and providers to understand reporting requirements,
source data systems, and data quality issues.

4.
Provide technical solutions for data and reporting requirements; maintain and
contribute to the data dictionary.

5.
Work with application database administrators, programmers, and system
administrators on projects related to data warehouse, business intelligence,
and reporting systems.

6.
Perform data validation to ensure data integrity within the data warehouse;
perform data cleansing and correction as required.

7.
Monitor and evaluate performance of the data warehouse and business
intelligence toolsets and applications.

8.
Develop and document data, reporting standards, and methodologies.

9.
Assist in the development and deliver appropriate training to the data
warehouse end-users and IT community to enable them to be self-sufficient in
their use of reporting toolsets.

10. Serve as a subject-matter expert for EPCC’s data warehouse and business
intelligence systems.

11. Keep abreast of emerging data warehouse, reporting, and other business
intelligence tools and technologies.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager, Information Technology
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide work direction to assigned staff.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.
Skills/Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal
skills, strong analytical skills, ability to process and analyze information accurately, detail
oriented, strong creative ability, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
2.
Equipment Used: Personal and mainframe computers, UNIX Dec Alpha Servers, NT
servers, printers and a variety of equipment associated with a general office environment and
programming environment.
3.
Software Used: SAS, Oracle, and MS/SQL Database, Data Warehouse, and Business
Intelligence toolsets.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials.
Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of
standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are
important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior;
and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as
noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
