POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager, Health Related Grants Exempt CATEGORY: Professional GRADE: F JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate and supervise grant projects related to the EPCC Health Occupations/Science programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Manage overall operations of all health grant projects to include initiation, coordination and supervision of the planning, development, scheduling, marketing, budgeting, implementation and evaluation of all project activities. YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 20% 2. Supervise and manage contractual reporting requirements of all health grants to include monitoring financial records, budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with the stated objectives and budget. Recruit and supervise personnel according to each grant needs. Communicate with funding agencies at the federal, state, city and foundation level to maintain a good relationship for EPCC and stay current on requirements and criteria on grant issue and needs. 20% 3. Manage through subordinate coordinators, grant programs to include grant application writing, marketing the program, recruiting students, scheduling courses and activities, monitoring and controlling budget expenses, assisting in the ranking and enrolling of students, and submitting reports to EPCC administration and the funding agency. 20% 4. Identify appropriate external funding sources related to health-related issues and topics; lead project teams to develop grant and research proposals. Write and submit proposals. 20% 5. Develop and implement a community-wide workforce plan to allow EPCC to fill current and projected health-related needs. Market EPCC Health Occupation programs (credit and non-credit) to the community. Coordinate with community agencies, health facilities, and EPCC department to attract and recruit health-related programs and students. Establish, coordinate, and maintain effective district-wide partnerships with the school districts and hospitals through direct contact, advisory committees and other methods to ensure the EPCC program offerings and curriculum meet their projected needs. 20% Revised: 7/6/04 Page 1 of 2 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Dean, Health Occupations, Math and Science SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: First line supervisor to staff assigned. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage departmental budget and health related grants budgets. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Master’s degree EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years. Skills/Abilities: • Current knowledge of state and federal grant regulations affecting health-related grants • Strong interpersonal skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Experience in program evaluation and budget management • Teaching and supervisory experience • Demonstrated successful experience in grant writing/grant receipt 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.
