Student Ambassadors are students who assist EPCC with recruitment, retention and public relations. Student Ambassadors reach out to both prospective and current students and make them aware of the programs and services we have available. Student Ambassadors promote campus life activities and involvement. By being a Student Ambassador, you will have a unique opportunity to work with students, staff, and the community and be a positive role model to other students. What do they do? • • • • • • • • • • Assist with community events Disseminate information regarding EPCC programs and services to student body and the community Campus tours (individual and group tour requests) Assist with Student Government, Campus Life and Intramural Sports events Special Assignments Reflect a positive image of our College to the community Appear in College promotional materials Promote the Student Ambassador Program Attend required monthly staff meetings Various hours representing EPCC at all campuses and community events. Some off campus activities required. • Enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours at El Paso Community College during the semester you will be an Ambassador • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher AND in Good Academic Standing • Availability for some evening and/or weekend events • Excellent communication and leadership skills, outgoing personality, enthusiasm, and have pride in EPCC • Commitments: To function effectively as a team, Student Ambassadors will participate in a training that will include: • • • • Good work ethic • How do I apply? • • • • • Complete and submit an application to the Student Leadership & Campus Life Office at Valle Verde, Room C107 Submit two (2) letters of recommendation Submit a current college or high school transcript Participate in an interview with Director or selection committee members Be at least a part time student (6 hours) • Benefits: • Student Ambassadors can elect to work fall, spring and for summer semesters but are encouraged to make a year-long commitment. In addition, Student Ambassadors receive official apparel to wear during tours and campus events. Additionally, you will attend Leadership EPCC conference and course. Minimum of 70 hours of service per semester Maintain Good Academic Standing Attend required training sessions and monthly meetings (not included in service hours) Attend Fall Leadership Conference and Spring Leadership EPCC course (not included in service hours) Responsible for scheduled time commitment at all events and activities (missing 2 confirmed assignments will constitute withdrawal from program and forfeiture of stipend) Display a positive and cooperative attitude at all events, activities and meetings • • • • • Student Ambassadors will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of professional skills such as team leadership, marketing, communication, and event management. In addition, Ambassadors will be eligible for: Six hours of tuition for completion of 70 hours of work EPCC Student Ambassador polo and tshirt along with other promotional items Networking opportunities with EPCC faculty and administrators A Certificate of Service Recognition at SGA & Club Awards Banquet A great resume builder!
