EXCELLENCE TODAY FOR TOMORROW SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT – January 23, 2014 I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff and students who took Monday’s theme as a “day of service” to heart. All of our schools provided an opportunity for our students to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., by giving of their time and talent to help others. As I have stated on other occasions, among all of the other life lessons, the Rose Tree Media School District strives to teach gracious giving – the ability to give back without condition or expectation. The willingness to accept some small piece of responsibility to share what we have with humility in the spirit of help, care and concern for others. Many of the most important performance based lessons don’t show on PDE’s new School Performance Profiles and we are proud of it. Again, thank you to our principals, staff, parents and students for reminding us once again that we are so much more than a score. Superintendent’s Report 1 January 23, 2014
