NORTH PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT School Board Policy 6114.3 INSTRUCTION Reference: Administrative Regulation #6114.3 Elementary and Secondary Emergencies Threats to Student Safety Specific, well-defined procedures for reacting to threats to student safety shall be developed with the local police and fire officials. These procedures will provide safety for the students and orderly evacuation. Such procedures shall be made familiar to all principals, building secretaries, and other personnel. Each building principal shall have plans specific to his/her own building and neighborhood which will assure the effective implementation of the general district plan. Plans for evacuation, transportation, bus loading areas, temporary shelter if needed, and emergency communication systems shall be spelled out for each school. Copies of all such plans shall be maintained in the office of the superintendent. In the event that school is dismissed, time lost may be made up at a later time in the school year. Annual review of the above procedures prior to the opening of school shall be conducted by the superintendent with both the police and fire officials and building principals to assure familiarity at all times.
