What is a Mustangs Sports Camp like? Sports participation and physical fitness are of the utmost importance at Mustangs Summer Day Camp. Each child will have multiple opportunities to play sports and learn about fitness. Simple games like frisbee or four square teach children how to work with others and achieve goals. More complex team sports like basketball or soccer teach children the value of fair play and sportsmanship. The Mustangs Sports Camps are specialty sports training sessions that allow campers to spend time focused on one particular sport. When signed up for a Mustangs Sports Camp, campers will spend four hours each day training with college-level coaches and players. Our coaches and players are great with kids and have a vast amount of experience and knowledge in training children. Counselors are trained to help campers build self-confidence, encourage their peers and advance their skills using positive reinforcement, praise for effort and guidance towards improvement. Campers will be divided into groups based on both age and skill level to ensure maximum benefit and performance. The camps offer personal instruction, drills, stations, games and contests. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities each day, including team and individual sports, playground games, movies, team work games and free play. Campers will also have the opportunity to participate in bonus activities, including Pizza Fridays, and Weekly Tournament. Parents may sign their children up for Mustangs Sports Camps a la carte, or as part of a Summer Day Camp sign up option. The stand alone cost of each Mustangs Sports Camp is $125 per camper. In conjunction with a Summer day Camp sign up, the cost is reduced to $65 per camper. Please see the sign up sheet for a listing of Mustangs Sports Camps offerings. Juniors Camp is for students ages 5-9. Campers will participate in fitness, sports and activities that are age appropriate, noncompetitive, and, most importantly, FUN! Seniors Camp For children ages 10-14 June 22, 2015 – August 21, 2015 Weekdays 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (no camp July 3rd) What is Seniors Camp like? Seniors Camp is for students ages 10-14. Campers will participate in fitness, sports and activities that are recreational, instructional and competitive. *Students who turn 15 on or before 8/21/2015 are not eligible for Seniors Camp, but can apply for the Counselors-in-Training (CIT) Program. CIT Program For children ages 15-17 June 22, 2015 – August 21, 2015 Weekdays 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (no camp July 3rd ) What is the CIT Program like? The Counselors-in-Training (CIT) Program is designed to help adolescents develop leadership skills. Our CITs are expected to be role models for the younger campers and display exemplary attitudes at all times. CITs help the counselors run camp activities and instruct the campers in a positive support role. An application form is required for application to the CIT Program. Interviews may be requested as well. In addition to daily duties, CITs have many privileges at camp, including free time, camp shirts and bonus activity sessions. Campers should come to camp with a packed lunch and a snack. No caffeine or soda is allowed. Pizza will be provided to Summer Day Camp campers on Fridays. (Sports Camp campers do not participate in Pizza Fridays.) The student will be excused for the remainder of the class/session without any refund, pending a decision regarding the student’s continuation in the Mustangs Camps programs. Summer camp at college, that is! Give them the chance to play, learn and grow through our Preschool Camp, an enriching, active and careful supervised camp for ages 2-5 years. This camp will give students the opportunity to cook and bake various items, while also learning about the food service industry. This camp is taught by instructors that have experience teaching cooking and/or baking to young people and also have a background in the foodservice industry. Students will be handling knives and other equipment in the kitchen so it is essential that they follow the instructors’ directions. Campers will be divided into groups with students they may not know so that they can develop teamwork and acceptance of others.
