Child Find Screenings If your child is a preschooler and you have concerns about his or her development, the Enumclaw School District offers screenings periodically throughout the school year for preschool children to provide information to parents on child development. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this free service, especially if you have questions regarding your child’s development. ECEAP is a family-focused program that provides the following services for families: When it comes to learning, home is where the best start occurs. Young children learn best through active involvement with people they love and trust. Their parents and family! They also learn best when repetition is frequent and in a secure environment. Their home! (Early Childhood Education Assistance Program) Tuition-Free preschool services to eligible low income families. Kindergarten readiness program for 3 and 4 year old children (by 8/31/15). Half Day (3 hour) or Full Day (6 hour) options. (based on availability) Vision, hearing, and dental screenings. Nutritious meals and snacks offered daily. Health and nutrition education. Preschool experience geared to the individual child. Activities which build self-esteem, social skills, and physical skills. Atmosphere which celebrates diversity. Developmental screenings. Bus transportation to and from preschool. Parent activities, classes, and involvement included. Parent professional development available. Information and referrals to community services and resources. Parents and caregivers attend sessions three times per year. Each class is a 90-minute interactive lesson led by a trained instructor. The targets, materials and tools used in class are participants to take home and use with their child as they determine, based on their child's personality, abilities and interests, and their family's values and culture. 2015-2016 READY! WHEN: Fall Session: October 20, 2015 Winter Session: January 12, 2016 Spring Session May 3, 2016 Our developmental preschool program focuses on individualized programs and group activities that help qualified children ages 3-5 achieve their maximum potential. Classes are taught by trained special education personnel. Individualized programs may include services by the following: Speech Language Pathologist Psychologist Occupational Therapist Physical Therapist Nurse School or academic readiness skills such as foundation for reading, writing, mathematics, social skills, motor skills, and music are provided as appropriate. Distribution of sessions is determined by the age and needs of each student. A strong emphasis on communication, social, and self-help skills is offered throughout the day. Our program is provided at no cost for qualified children. A Child Find screening is necessary to see if your child qualifies for services.
