Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the frequently asked questions for the CEMRS project. If you have a question that is
not on the list or need clarification of an answer, please sent it to Steve.Hawrysh@so.mnscu.edu.
What is the cost of EMS Campus to each college/university?

Each college/university will be charged $4.00 per full year equivalent for fiscal 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Does every college/university need to use EMS Campus?

Yes, at the November 2011 Leadership council meeting the presidents agreed that all colleges and
universities need to use EMS Campus to support systemwide reporting and better support our
ability for bonding requests at the legislature.
Does the EMS Campus software qualify for the Student Tech Fee expenditure?

No, it does not.
Will we be able to report inter-institutional collaboration with another college/university?

Yes, as part of better systemwide reporting we will be reporting courses you hosted for other
institutions.
Will this new system create invoices for rooms booked to outside vendors?

We are not looking into the billing module as part of this project. A college/university may want to
look into purchasing that module once we implement the system. There is a way to do rudimentary
billing from the system.
Will the ISRS scheduling functions still be supported?

Yes, ISRS scheduling will still be supported.
What reporting tool will the system office use for facilities utilization reporting?

Facilities utilization reporting will come out of the EMS Campus product. We are working on the
details on how this will work.
Will EMS Campus integrate with ISRS?


We validated the ISRS to EMS Campus integration using a test version of EMS Campus and test ISRS.
The integration supported all the scenarios we came up with.
ISRS is the source data for most of the data in EMS Campus. Data will start in ISRS and update the
EMS Campus database. Changes in room assignments in EMS Campus will flow back into ISRS. There
will be minimal double data entry between ISRS and EMS Campus.
