Safe Schools Committee

The Safe Schools Committee met on September 30 and discussed the following:
Emergency Plan Updates, additional C.L.A.S.S. buttons from Montgomery County
Emergency Dispatch Center, Evaluation of & Training for Emergency Drills, the
evacuation of Inglewood due to a natural gas leak, and Police Departments doing
practice drills in our schools.
Mr. Strobel continued with a discussion of the installation of new cameras at NPHS
and a new project to close in courtyards with a new fencing project at NPHS to
improve safety.
The committee requested that the administration look into weather safety, especially
in the Modular Classrooms, additional cameras at all buildings and physical
renovations to the front lobby areas of some of our schools.
The next meeting of the Safe Schools Committee has been scheduled for Monday,
October 28, 2013, following the Finance Committee Meeting (est. 7:00 p.m.) at the
Educational Services Center.
