A Language Partner Program
Information
What Is It?
Let’s Chat! is a language partner program that pairs a native English speaker with a non-native speaker
to engage in English language conversation practice. Partners meet on campus for 30 minutes every
week during the semester and will submit a timesheet at the end of the semester. ANYONE AND
EVERYONE is welcome to participate!

What Do You Talk About?
Here are some suggestions on what you can talk to your partner about:
• Food: What is popular and common food to eat in your family and country?
• Sports: What are popular sports to watch in your country? What sports do you like to play?
• Hobbies: What do you like to do during your free time? Why do you enjoy it?
• Holidays: What holidays do you celebrate? What is the significance of the holiday?
• Family: What does family mean in your culture?
• Communication: Describe how you communicate with your friends and family (ie: gestures,
body language, technology, etc.)
• Education: How does the American classroom experience differ from a classroom in another
country?
