Lesson Plan Course Title: Flexible Manufacturing Session Title: Flexible Manufacturing Industry Performance Objective: After completing this lesson, the students will be able to explain the three types of industries in the field of flexible manufacturing; and will demonstrate workforce skills by writing a résumé and interview answers to basic interview questions. Specific Objectives: Compare the different industries in flexible manufacturing (Sheet Metal, Welding, and Precision Machining). Identify the skills, training and education needed for the flexible manufacturing industries. Understand the job outlooks for the flexible manufacturing industries. Prepare the basic application information for seeking employment. Prepare a résumé. List answers to questions asked in interviews. Summary Review (LSI Quadrants I and IV): Question: Why is it important to know the job outlook for an industry or profession? Answer: The job outlook tells how many openings are available in the industry or profession and the expected salary. Question: Why are workforce skills important to understand when applying for a job? Answer: The employer is trying to find out if you would be able to fit in the company workforce. The employer wants to find out as much as possible about you by your application, résumé and interview. Evaluation Informal Assessment (LSI Quadrant III): The students will have to explain the different types of industries and the importance of workforce (soft skills) from the employer’s point of view.
