Good Evening and welcome to the Annual Day celebrations of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura. It is my privilege

not accepted. He was appointed the Solicitor General of India on ١٣th February ٢٠١٣. His father, Shri K. Parasaran was
also the Attorney General of India, a rare combination. Mr. Parasaran has represented the Government of India in
landmark cases, including the dispute between the Ambani brothers on the KGD6 gas elds, international tax matters
in the Vodafone case, and public interest matters concerning food security and shelter. He has also appeared in the
Commission of Inquiry which probed into the Airbus ٣٢٠ crash in Mangalore.
His strong values and his faith in Indian culture make it so appropriate that today, as we stage the Ramayana, he is here to
encourage and motivate us. Sir, we are privileged to have you here with us today. We extend a very warm welcome to you.
I am honoured to welcome our Guest of Honour, Padma Shri Dr. Kiran Mar n. Dr. Mar n is the Founder and Director of Asha, an

Asha’s highly successful model of slum development has been recognized at the highest levels, influencing government policies.
In 2002, the President of India awarded Dr Mar n, the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian awards. Dr Mar n has lectured
worldwide at Harvard, Cambridge, the Bri sh House of Commons and the House of Representa ves in the United States. Her love for
children and the convic on that educa on can transform lives brings her here despite her demanding schedule. Thank you ma’am,
for taking me out to be with us and to inspire us. We welcome you.
I extend our best wishes to Sh. K.K. Khullar, President – Child Educa on Society, whose vision of aspiring for “Be er & Be er” in all

I welcome Sh. L. R. Channa, Vice President – Child Education Society and Chairman – Bal Bharati Public School,

and support have led us from strength to strength over the years. It is a privilege to work with him.
On behalf of the fraternity of the school, I welcome Mrs. Sudhi Mattoo who has taken over as the Secretary Manager
of the school w.e.f. 1stSeptember 2013. Mrs. Mattoo is an eminent educationist and we are privileged to have her as our
mentor and guide. We welcome you ma’am.
I would like to express my gratitude to Shri S.K. Bhattacharya for his contribution as Secretary of the school for the last
٢٥ years. He has been a pillar of strength for the school and has been instrumental in shaping the destiny of B.B.P.S,

ANNUAL REPORT (2012-13)
In today’s world, dened by globalization, shrinking boundaries, new technologies and excessive materialism,
the need of the hour is to focus on the cultivation of Human Values. Education without values is incomplete – for
then it will only equip our children to make a living and not a life. Each one of us nds ourselves at the crossroads
of value crisis in the society. Role models are glaringly absent and our children are groping for a direction in the
vacuum of values. It is so important at this impressionable stage that our children learn the fundamental values
that will give them a foundation for a happy, contented life in the years ahead. It is with this conviction that we
decided to reacquaint ourselves and the children with the eternal values embodied in our epic, the Ramayana.
The values of truth, righteousness, compassion, the courage to stand up for the right, the virtue of honouring
commitments, leading a life of balance and in harmony with nature and above all, faith in the power of the divine
- Ramayanaencompasses all this and much more. It was a joy to see the children go through the panorama of
these virtues and values.
Our children are exposed to the negativity of violence, selshness, corruption and much more in the real world
and through the media. Let us also give them an insight into the positivity of virtues and values that will enable
them to face the challenges that lie ahead. I am sure that each one of us, and our children will carry some part of
the Ramayana with us throughout our lives. Intelligence, success, high achievement and money are important
and worthy goals but would be meaningless if our children are unhappy and discontent. Let us, as parents and
teachers, continue to empower the young minds entrusted to us, so that they are always a step ahead, a step
faster, and a step surer to take on every challenge that tomorrow brings.
In all humility, I take this opportunity to thank some very special people without whom these achievements could
not have been possible - Sh. K.K. Khullar, President – Child Education Society for motivating us towards making
each tomorrow better than today. I thank Sh. L.R. Channa, Vice President – C.E.S. and Chairman – Managing
committee of the school for his constant support and guidance. His ever positive attitude and encouragement
give us the condence to keep soaring high. I thank Mrs. Matto for inspiring us and being with us here today.
I extend my gratitude to Sh. S.K. Bhattacharya, former Secretary of the Managing Committee of the school. I
thank all the members of the Child Education Society, members of the Managing Committee of the school
and my fellow Principals from Bal Bharati Schools and beyond. Their constant guidance has been our
strength. I thank every parent of the school for their constant support. I thank the entire staff, teaching and nonteaching, for it is they who work tirelessly, yet joyfully, to keep the school on the path of excellence. And above
all, I thank every child of the school for it is their efforts that become our achievements, and their achievements
are our pride.
Today, Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura is synonymous with holistic education – a place where students
evolve into responsible individuals with condence in their abilities and potential, a strong faith in themselves and
the conviction to realize their dreams and to take the road less travelled. Let us all together work towards this ‘man
making’ education for our children giving them a happy home and a happy school.
