Christy Schlesinger Christy Schlesinger joined the firm upon graduating with her Master’s in Architecture from Princeton University. However, her architectural education began long before by the side of her father, most notably when accompanying him during his National Endowment for the Art’s fellowship where they travelled extensively throughout Scandinavia visiting seminal works of such architects as Gunnar Asplund, Alvar Aalto and Jorn Utzon. It was not until her junior year, where she spent a semester abroad in Siena, Italy as a fine arts major, that these past experiences became a factor in the realization that her true interest was architecture. Upon returning from Italy she enrolled at the University of Maryland’s undergraduate program in architecture where her father was a professor. Two years later her Bachelors of Science in Architecture was given to her by her Father and with that symbolic transfer the beginning of their professional relationship began. After gaining experience at a wide variety of firms such as Gwathmey Siegal, Michael Graves and Adamstein & Demetriou and spending a summer in London at the Architectural Association, she joined her father’s firm. Like him, she began to combine architectural practice with teaching. For the past 7 years she has been an Adjunct Faculty member in the Master’s of Interior Design program at The Corcoran School of Art; staying true to the belief that a practice and teaching are a critical merge for the future. http://www.corcoran.edu/faculty/christy-schlesinger http://www.schlesingerarchitects.com/
