We are offering for the sixth time a 3-day course
covering in a practical and clinically oriented way
the core knowledge and skills required by all staff in
Early Intervention Services.
Topics covered include:
- Update on current knowledge on the
causes of psychosis and how it presents
- Assessment for EIS services
- Team working and care coordination in
EIS
- Applying the recovery model in EIS
- Relapse prevention techniques
- Psychoeducation for clients and carers
- Vocational interventions in EIS
- Medication management in early
psychosis
- Working with cannabis use in early
psychosis
- Early detection and the prodrome
- Working with BME groups in EIS
- Development and early psychosis
- Planning discharge from EIS
- Working with difficult to engage service
users
