Position Title: Production Management Internship Organization: Western Front is one of Canada’s leading artist-run-centers for contemporary art and new music. We produce and present visual art, exhibitions, new music concerts and workshops, media-art residencies, performance art and other artist driven initiatives. Description: Assisting with coordination of two Western Front New Music projects involving research, planning and implementation of: 1. Youth Initiatives Programming – Sonic Playground: Assisting with pre-production logistics: timelines, equipment lists for exhibition and performances. Assisting with text and image content preparation for exhibition signage and concert program for Sonic Playground activities. Exhibition Preparation of artist biographical and installation details for display cards for BC Youth Week. Assist with exhibition setup, daily maintenance of the exhibit and final strike of exhibit. Performances Assist with artist and student logistics: organizing and realizing staging during rehearsals, tech rehearsals and performances 2. Archival Audio Release Production: Research Gathering artist biographies, historical information, artwork and media (i.e. photos) related to recordings from Western Front archives in preparation for LP production. Preparation of timeline for LP production. Gathering quotes for developing LP production budget: mechanical production, shipping. Creating a shipping price formula for online sales of LP’s Marketing and Publicity. Assisting with preparation of international media contact list. Arranging production of demo CD’s. Assisting with content preparation for website, press releases, email, social media including text, images, audio and video clips. Assisting with content preparation for marketing materials: brochures/posters and ads ready for design, print and distribution. Qualifications: Music or visual arts student with good research and writing skills and understanding of art or music production. Minimum completion of 2 years university or equivalent.
