What is the NIH Manuscript Submission System The NIH Manuscript Submission system allows you to submit an electronic version of your peer‐reviewed final manuscript for inclusion in PubMed Central. (h p://nihms.nih.gov/) Anyone with access to the necessary informa on and documents can submit a manuscript without an official delegate status. Log in It is recommended that you sign in with your eRA Commons ID (if available). Please note that you should always log in via the same mechanism whether it is eRA Commons or myNCBI. Submit New Manuscript Before you get started Items needed for successful submission:  Journal name  A ach document: Final peer‐reviewed manuscript (This is the final version you submi ed to which the journal said it was accepted.)  A ach document: Figures ,Tables or other suppor ng informa on included in manuscript, if applicable  ALL Grant numbers cited in the manuscript  Embargo period (e.g., [from the Journal of the American Medical Associa on] Authors who submit their manuscripts to an approved public repository, such as PubMed Central, must indicate that the manuscript may not be made available to the public sooner than 6 months a er publica on in JAMA.) My NCBI Bibliography Enter grants/projects informa on It is recommended that you enter the exact grant number (ID #) instead of searching by Name. Searching by name may result in numerous results to sort through. _________________ For mul ple grant #s, you will need to conduct mul ple search requests un l all grant #s are selected Upload Files—Must be final peer‐reviewed documents (PDF or Word) Review Summary Review and Approve Submission  Save PDF Receipt for your files  Cer fy submission  Choose reviewer, if other than yourself; Must be an author on the manuscript or a PI on a grant cited  Endorse Final Summary In process Approval The designated approver will receive TWO emails from the NIHMS system seeking ac on for final approval of submi ed manuscript.
