Do you want to be in charge of determining your own future? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then entrepreneurship might be the right path for you. For current list of career path advisors please visit: business.fullerton.edu/stude ntservices/careerpath.html According to Dictionary.com, an entrepreneur is defined as a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. Managing an enterprise can be interpreted in many ways, some of the few including managing a corporation, creating a sole proprietorship, or owning a franchise. The common essential skills needed to be an entrepreneur include being a “self-starter” and having excellent interpersonal skills. To those passionate about entrepreneurship, the reward of starting a potentially successful company outweighs any risk that one may encounter. According to the Faisal Hoque, Founder & CEO of BTM Corporation, entrepreneurship “defines who we are and who we aspire to become.” An entrepreneur must find resources by making, maintaining, and leveraging contacts both in the short and long term for mutual benefits, manage risk by accepting and taking responsibilities for calculated strategies, and create wealth (capital) by not only securing financial value, but by creating knowledge, sustainable assets, and social impact. There is no exact formula for entrepreneurship. It is unique for each individual. You cannot follow someone else's journey to success, either. That journey is uniquely yours and yours only.
