BIOGRAPHY LEONG KENG THAI Deputy Chief Executive & Director-General (Telecoms & Post) Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore Mr Leong Keng Thai is the Deputy Chief Executive & DirectorGeneral (Telecoms & Post) of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). Mr Leong started his career with the former Telecommunication Authority of Singapore (TAS) since 1980 where he has held engineering as well as management positions in private network engineering, business product management and international business development. In 1992, he joined the reconstituted TAS as Director (Planning) and subsequently became Director (Policy) from 1994. From April 1996, Mr Leong was appointed as the Deputy Director-General of TAS and from 15 September 1996, he was appointed the Director-General of TAS. From 1 December 1999, he was appointed the Deputy Chief Executive & Director-General (Telecoms) of IDA, a statutory board created as a result of the merger between TAS and the National Computer Board. Mr Leong graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Singapore and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California, USA. He also attended the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.
