Swiss Federal Communications Commission ComCom Biography of Marc Furrer, President of the Swiss Federal Communications Commission Marc Furrer is the President of the Swiss Federal Communications Commission (ComCom) since 2005 and Director a.i. of the Postal Regulation Authority (PostReg) in Switzerland. In 2006-2007 he was President of FRATEL (the telecom regulation network of the Frenchspeaking countries). In 2005 he was State Secretary and head of the Swiss Delegation for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis. In 2003 he was responsible for content and organisational preparations for the UN World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva. Marc Furrer is also President of the Swiss Ice Hockey Association since 2006 and was Chairman of the Swiss Rowing Association. From 1992 to 2004 Marc Furrer was Director General of the Swiss Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) and from 1988-1992 personal political secretary to Federal Counsellor Adolf Ogi, former Head of the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Communications and Energy. He studied Law at the University of Berne and graduaded as attorney and notary.
