S504/S506/GDC Part Number Explanation & RoHS Compliant 5 x 20mm Part Numbers
Due to market demands and similar fusing characteristics, product management has determined the following
action items affecting the GDC, S504 and S506 product families:
1. Cooper Bussmann has offered both the GDC Family and S504/S506 families as a part of their 5mm glass
time-delay fuse offering, designed to the IEC standard.
2. The GDC Part Number is used primarily in North America, and is the same base fuse as the equivalent
S504 (all made in our Dong Guan, China facility). It simply gets the GDC label printed on the outside of
the fuse.
3. The RoHS compliant versions of the S506 product family will receive a new part number indicated with a
“–R” suffix. (i.e., S506-5A will have a RoHS Compliant version, S506-5-R)
4. The non-RoHS compliant versions of S504/S506/GDC will remain available (no suffix) indefinitely. At
some point they may be discontinued (an EOL letter will be released).
5. The GDC/S504 product family will NOT have a RoHS compliant version made and will continue to have
the helical construction for all ratings.
6. The RoHS compliant S506-R fuse family will be extended down to 32mA based on the 32mA thru 400mA
helical RoHS compliant designs developed for the GDC/S504 series (only the –R versions of the 400mA
and below will be offered).
