A commercial specification manger, Richardson was recently named an electrical industry rising star in tED: the Electrical Distributor Magazine’s annual “30 Under 35” competition. “In the mere three years Jessica has been working with us, she has quickly climbed the ranks through six different positions,” said Tammy Livers, vice president, Sales, Eaton’s Cooper Wiring Devices business. “Her problem-solving skills, willingness to take on challenges and overall enthusiasm for her role have made her an extremely valuable asset to our team and we’re thrilled to see her recognized for her wide range of talents.” In her current position, Richardson increases awareness of the business’ offerings in the marketplace, and manages a portion of the company’s sales force. Her day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing territory strategy plans, identifying and specifying products for bids, and implementing employee product training. “I joined the team because I knew that the forward-thinking environment would allow me to progress and present me with new challenges on a daily basis,” said Richardson. “I thoroughly enjoy the problem-solving element of my role and from managing a sales force to – more – Eaton/Page 2 stepping in as acting quality supervisor, my job has afforded me tremendous challenges. I hope to continue to grow and thrive at Eaton for many years to come.” Richardson began her career with Cooper Industries in 2010 working at the LaGrange, N.C. facility upon graduating from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications. Previous to her current role, she held several positions within the company, proving her versatile nature and talents as continuous improvement engineering technician, acting quality supervisor and value stream manager. The magazine’s annual “30 Under 35” competition recognizes successful and well-rounded electrical industry professionals 35 years old or younger. Judged by the editors of the magazine, the nominees were selected based upon their industry dedication, innovation, training, leadership skills, people skills, personal integrity and work/life balance.
