Cooper Power Systems Announces Yukon Advanced
Energy Services Software Release 5.0
Latest release adds support for new two-way devices and enhanced demand response functionality to
the already feature rich and field-proven software suite.
WAUKESHA, WI, October 5, 2010 – Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries plc
(NYSE: CBE), today announced the availability of the Yukon Advanced Energy Services Platform
version 5.0. The company has implemented Yukon at more than 200 utilities including Cooperatives,
Municipals and Investor Owned Utilities. Cooper Power Systems taps into this broad user base to drive
the development of its rich software roadmap and industry-leading devices to meet the ever changing
needs of multiple utility departments with a single, secure, enterprise Smart Grid software platform.
Today’s release of Yukon 5.0 advances Cooper’s commitment to Smart Grid investment with strategic
enhancements to the Yukon Demand Response Management System (DRMS) to support operation of
today’s complex Demand Response programs and also provides enhanced data analysis for Cooper’s
Power Line Carrier and Wireless AMI technologies.
Yukon 5.0 features a newly designed DRMS portal with a rich, flexible interface that allows operators to
easily find crucial information such as the event status, historical control times and feedback associated
with specific devices or customer groupings. The Yukon DRMS also features a unique method to
efficiently initiate demand response events as wide as full system or as targeted as ad hoc regions,
substations, or individual distribution feeders to easily support the enhanced grid management
techniques necessary in today’s demand response programs.
