Cooper Lighting and Safety’s Nick Manning Wins
Young FD of the Year Award
DONCASTER, UK, 5 October 2010 – Nick Manning, Financial Director of Cooper Lighting and
Safety, a business unit of Cooper Safety, picked up the award for Young Financial Director of the
Year at the recent Yorkshire Finance Director Awards.
The region’s elite financial directors were honoured at a prestigious black-tie event held at Rudding
Park Hotel in Harrogate. Now in their ninth year, the awards are sponsored by Ernst & Young,
Hammonds, Santander and Sewell Moorhouse.
Commenting on his success, Nick said: “I am delighted to have won this award, which recognises
that my involvement in a number of key areas has made a significant contribution to the business as
a whole and will help the company to meet the challenges of the coming years.”
A member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Nick joined Cooper Lighting and
Safety in 2006 and since then has played a central role in some strategic changes that the company
has made. These included the implementation of financial shared services and, most recently,
negotiating the purchase of the building that the company occupies in Wheatley Hall Road,
Doncaster, where it designs and manufactures a wide range of commercial lighting and emergency
lighting products.
Along with other shortlisted nominees, Nick was interviewed by a panel of representatives from the
four sponsoring firms and at the awards ceremony was announced as the winner out of three
finalists in his category.
