Terry Heagney is a lecturer at the Sloan School, MIT, where he has taught managerial communication for the last three years. Before that, he was corporate vice president for external affairs for Houghton Mifflin Company, where he was in charge of media relations, government relations and all corporate communications. He served on the board of the Huntington Theater from 2000 to 2002, taught a graduate course in publishing at Emerson College in 1996-97, and spent a number of years acquiring, developing and marketing college textbooks for Prentice Hall, Prindle, Weber & Schmidt and Houghton Mifflin. He has his AB from Harvard and his PhD in English Literature from Boston College.
