DNA, Defendants, and Decisions:
Sherlock Holmes Meets Genetics
Forensic genetics applies genetics knowledge to legal proceedings. In this talk, some
case examples from Michigan will be described. In addition, relevant historical and
ethical issues related to future directions in forensics will be discussed based on the
speaker’s experience as a board certified molecular geneticist and expert witness for
DNA cases in court.
