National Pan-Hellenic Council Eastern Michigan University Tuesday, November 17, 2015 Minutes *President calls meeting to order at 7:21pm ROLL CALL (Total Number of Members Present) Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.: 1 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.: 9 Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.: 1 Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.: Absent Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.: 3 Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.: 5 Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.: Absent Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.: 3 Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.: Absent All E-board members present* Upcoming Events: -Alpha Week Nov 30- Nov 4 -Vision Board Workshop w/ the Deltas: Nov. 23 -Delta Fashion Show Model Calls: Dec. 7 & Dec. 8 -December 1: President meeting to do the constitution from 7-9 President Report: Wen’zell Franklin -Oral Report was Provided -Covered the Following Issues: Presidents Expectation · 100% effort · Communication is not working out the way it supposed to be · More needs to happen · Try harder · Take Responsibility · Accountability · Leadership State of the Greek Address -All three counsel will come together to discuss a couple of things together AFLV -Going to AFLV February 6-9 having other council members can go as well but have it come out of your funding Organization Evaluations -Proposed so that we can see what we can do as a council to become better Council Shirts -$6 per person due December 1 NPHC week -Support during fundraisers GLA -16 members present, pushing for 25 members to go next year Greek Week -During Delta Week so we are trying to move it to the 21 of March Service Hours -Log in hours in the web portal Social Media -Positive involvement for EMU Greek Life New Members -Welcome from the nphc feel welcome after they come in to the organization Fines -Iotas paid their fine -Kappas & Ques still owe NPHC Dues -$45 for NPHC dues must be turned in by the second week of January, late fee $55 GSAP Binders: -Pick-up binders in December, delegate members of organizations to complete GSAP binders NPHC Advisor, Karen: ● Do we want to do the NPHC retreat again? -Council Vote: Yes -Clear lines of communication regarding participation in upcoming retreat established Special Guest, Kristen Floyd: ● Clear Lines of Communication: -Groupme, not a good source of communicating business -Probates, coming out shows are not permitted: Per EPO -Advocate for student rights for probate shows/ use of student facilities -Town Hall Meeting Thursday 12pm-2pm in the Auditorium -Utilize your resources to advocate for the student body!
