CPC Minutes (March 24, 2016) 900 Oakwood Street 342U EMU Student Center Ypsilanti, MI 48197 Meeting Opened: 7:01 pm Officers Present: All Present Delegates Present: ΑΓΔ ΑΣΤ ΑΞΔ ΔΖ ΣΔΤ ΣΚ ΣΝΦ ΣΣΣ Senior X X X X X X X X Junior X X X X X X X X Special Guests: CAPS ­ QPR ­ Suicide Prevention Training Officer Reports: President: ● We are in the process of selecting Leadershape Scholarship recipients. ● Don’t forget that incoming officer workshop is on April 9th and Officer Transition Retreat is on April 16th. ○ Both are MANDATORY for all incoming officers ● There is a presidents’ meeting on Monday, March 28th at 7pm in room Student Center room 104 ● We are welcoming two new Greek organizations to EMU! I’m sure you all know that Theta Chi is colonizing and will continue to do so! But in addition we are welcoming a new sorority, Distinctive Ladies! Distinctive Ladies is a latina sorority and they were given permission to colonize within the last couple weeks. Their president’s name is Yaretzi Delgado ( ydelgado@emich.edu ). Be sure to reach out and say hello! ● We are in the process of creating a Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). That will be happening over the summer, and Sigma Lambda Gamma will be associated with that council. We have also been reaching out to a couple other multicultural organizations on campus to affiliate with this council. ● There will be a welcome event on Wednesday, March 30th from 2pm­4pm. We will be welcoming both Distinctive Ladies and Theta Chi officially to our campus! Stop by room 330 at that time to meet our new community members, and pick up some refreshments! ● The Women’s Resource Center is holding an event called Stand in Solidarity with Survivors of Sexual Assault. They have called out Greek Life specifically to join them in promoting and attending this event. Because the fraternal community is considered a high risk population for sexual assault we should be doing all that we can in order to put an end to this violence and support survivors. It is very important that everyone who attended fills out this survey because this is a new program, and in order to evaluate it, your opinion matters. Kiera is a 3x student senator and for the past 2 years senate speaker and member of honors college. ● Sigma Nu changed their Date for their annual cleaning up Ypsi Unfinished Business: None New Business: Proposed amendments to the CPC Constitution and Bylaws: Article X, Section 2, Subsection O: O. In case of a campus emergency the president will be the only one speaking on behalf of the College Panhellenic Council with the approval of the advisor. Inform the council about changed in the Manual of Information, Judicial policies and other policies sent down by the highest governing body B. Select members of the Greek Judicial Board with the help of the Panhellenic Advisor(s), IFC Executive Vice President and Director of Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards. C. Serve as Greek Judicial Board Chief Justice and preside over all judicial board meetings with a voice but no vote. D. Maintain safe social environments and address health and wellness issues through enforcement of the Greek Social Policy, FIPG Risk Management Policies and GLASS Programming. E. Assume the Duties of CPC President should she unable to fulfill her duties F. Hold regular meetings with designated risk management chairs G. Schedule, reserve rooms for, set the the agenda for, and run monthly Judicial Board meetings if no hearing takes place that month H. Host GLASS events and maintain records of GLASS Certification I.
