ASB Cluster Coordinator, Volunteer Position- Expectations/Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator of the VISION Volunteer Center and the ASB Coordinator the expectations and responsibilities for the ASB Cluster Coordinator, Volunteer Position include but are not limited to: Summer: ● Attend scheduled meetings throughout the summer of 2016 and throughout the Fall and Winter semesters as a part of the Alternative Breaks team ● Participate in Break Away’s Alternative Break Citizenship Schools during the summer of 2016 (date TBD) ● Select a cluster of trips to plan ● Contact community partners working on those issues and begin the planning for cluster of ASB trips ● Became the expert on the social justice issue(s) related to cluster and begin preparing resources to educate site leaders and their participants Fall Semester: ● Hold 5 office hours per week Position Description/ASB Cluster Coordinator, Volunteer Position/SPSU2016-Winter2017 ● Develop an education packet to provide site leaders with a basis for educating their participants ● Attend and assist with Site Leader retreat (give out information and facilitate conversations and trainings as needed) ● Educate site leaders about cluster and promote a network of support throughout cluster ● Arrange to meet with Site Leaders once per week to oversee their trip development and group cohesion ● Attend regularly scheduled Alternative Breaks team meetings to further assist with fundraising and large group events ● Assist site leaders with pre-break service if needed Winter Semester: ● Provide support to Site Leaders in cluster while they are on break if needed ● Support the development of post-break initiatives within cluster ● Assist with Reorientation Overall: ● Represent VISION in various settings (Eaglepalooza, etc.) ● Attend regular meetings with AB team ● Other tasks as needed ● ● ● ● ● ASB Cluster Coordinator, Volunteer Position - Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Community service, community engagement, and volunteer experience (specifically AB experience) strongly preferred Passion for social justice Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each term Cumulative EMU GPA of 2.5 or greater (must be maintained throughout the duration of employment) Hours and Compensation Approximately 5 hours per week.
