Since the announcement, the retail industry has been awhirl with both technology and business use case development and innovation. In this session, we will revisit progress made over the last year. We will hear from an apparel company using item level tagging to gain a competitive advantage by driving more efficient replenishment processes as well as hear an update from the University of Arkansas RFID Laboratory on innovative uses for the technology that they are seeing being deployed in the retail arena. Our panelists are drawn from a cross section of early players in the application of RFID, and bring to the discussion real world experience with RFID technology in the retail space. WHAT: The Twin Cities RFID Industry Forum is a breakfast/speaker event sponsored by the Management Information Systems Research Center (MISRC) of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, the Center for the Development of Technological Leadership at the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota High Tech Association and Seeonic. The Forum is an educational and networking opportunity for those interested in learning more about the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in the Twin Cities area. WHEN: The Forum is held quarterly on the First Thursday morning of March, June, September, and December from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Breakfast begins at 7:00 am with an industry speaker presentation commencing shortly thereafter. WHERE: The Forum is held at the Carlson School of Management on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus in Minneapolis. WHO: The Forum is open to management and technology specialists interested in the emerging Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) industry.
