Literature Searches • To learn about basic, well understood ideas – Textbooks are ideal if you can find them – Search for “tutorial” or “survey” papers • Start by searching the internet – Often researchers will put their latest projects and papers on their websites – You can get ideas of what to search for next – However, giving a citation to a website is not acceptable; it must be a book, journal or conference • To find specific papers – CSM has electronic subscription to many journals, including all the IEEE journals. Go to the library website (you must be on campus or using vpn to log in) – Often Google Scholar will find it somewhere on the web – I have a subscription to the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library (http://www.computer.org/portal/web/csdl) which has many conference papers – http://citeseer.ist.psu.edu/ is also pretty good
