CFR FACULTY MEETING MINUTES 13 December, 2005 PRESENT : Agee, Allan, Bradley, Briggs, Brubaker, Doty , Eastin, Edmonds, Ewing, Ford, Franklin, Fridley, Gara, Greulich Gustafson, Halpern, Harrison, Hinckley, Manuwal, Marzluff, Paun, Perez-Garcia, Peterson, Ryan, Schreuder, Schiess, Sprugel, Turnblom, West, Zabowski EXCUSED: Brown, Johnson, Reichard, Vogt (D), Vogt (K), Wott ABSENT : Bare, Bolton, Hodgson, Lee, Lippke, Mabberly, McKean, Raedeke, Strand Rick Gustafson began the meeting with a thank you to all faculty members for their involvement in the candidate search process. He reminded everyone that today’s meeting would be devoted to the Remote Sensing Candidate and the vote on this position. Rick also shared the final votes for the Natural Products Chemist and the Director for Sustainable Forestry at Pack Forest candidates. Faculty recommendations have been forwarded to the Dean’s office. Jim Agee described the search committee process for the Remote Sensing and Biospatial Analysis Faculty position. The final three candidates who were invited for an interview were: Hans-Erik Anderson, Hongliang Fang and Monika Moskal. Jim went into great detail about the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate and shared the committee recommendations. He then opened up the floor for discussion with the faculty members. After a forty minute discussion, Rick Gustafson asked for the faculty to vote on the acceptability of the three candidates and to rank them in ascending order of preference. Closing Remarks Rick reminded the faculty that this was Naomi Wilson’s last meeting with the faculty. Cards and gifts were given to Naomi and she said a few words to the faculty. Adjourned 11:35 am
