sustainable travel choices

to external routes
 Creation of a mixture of dedicated footways/cycleways
using internal roads
 Bike parking and changing/shower facilities integrated into
new buildings as a matter of course
 Student residences will be built within walking or cycling
distance of campus where possible

Summary
 The University has a significant impact
 We are endeavouring to manage that impact
 Expansion of facilities for both teaching and research, and
the associated support services such as catering and
student accommodation
 The development areas proposed are all contained within
the land first approved for development in 1964
 New developments would be designed and constructed
according to the highest standards – BREEAM ‘Excellent’
Many thanks
