Mr. Ross is an Associate Director in the Houston office of Navigant Consulting, Inc. He has more than forty years of insurance claims, litigation support, consulting and operational experience in the energy, marine, power generation and industrial sectors. His experience includes the preparation and the adjusting of insurance claims for property damage, loss of production, control of well and business interruption, as well as the quantification of damages in support of litigation. Mr. Ross has been retained to provide consulting and expert testifying services on matters concerning the adjustment of oil and gas insurance claims. Marine Insurance Surveying » Conducted various surveys on damaged vessels, marine machinery and dockside facilities. » Attended several marine salvage operations on behalf of insurers. Litigation Consulting » Testified in arbitration and provided consultancy services on a disputed control of well claim in Canada, claim circa $10 million. » Carried out an audit of claims totalling approximately $300 million relating to the arbitration of a reinsurance dispute concerning a 36‐month property insurance policy for a major oil, gas and petrochemical company. » Quantified damages and provided technical advice for a drilling rig charter party arbitration in London. » Quantified costs arising from a subsea pipeline incident in the Gulf of Mexico, circa $30 million. » Worked for various attorneys on the quantification of numerous insurance claims in anticipation of potential litigation. Industry Experience » Spent seven years in the British merchant navy as a seagoing marine engineer. » Spent five years working for several oil companies as an onshore based marine engineer. During this period, Mr. Ross worked as a terminal superintendent, a cost engineer, and as an energy conservation specialist.
