If your representative is NOT an attorney-at-law licensed in North Carolina, you must submit a power-of-attorney for your representative to act in your regard. 3 4 5 6 7 8 4) Enter your own OPINION OF VALUE. 5) Describe any effort you have made to sell the property. 6) State your reason(s) for appealing the Assessor’s Office valuation of your property. 7) Identify any properties you feel are similar to yours and support a different valuation. 9 8) If your property is used to provide income it is rented or leased to others - you must provide your rent roll (tenants and dates of occupancy) and operating statements (income and expense) for the years preceding the revaluation date of January 1, 2011. 10 Review/Submit Your Appeal 9) Review the criteria for appealing property values in non-revaluation years.
