Meeting Summary
The Committee:
•
Met at The Charlotte Housing Authority office located at 1301 South Blvd.
•
Received a presentation on CHA’s Financial Resources and Real Estate Strategy.
•
CHA presented a strategy to ensure the CHA’s capital, operating subsidy and services work together with all three agencies (City/County/CHA).
•
CHA’s rental subsidy could work with a comprehensive plan as a solution to affordable housing.
Discussion included how to shift mind set from building to rental subsidy.
•
Discussed choice neighborhood and new version of Hope VI.
•
Discussed how to build affordable housing in stable neighborhoods and how to best utilize the Rapid Acquisition fund.
•
Discussed operating subsidy component and opportunities to collaborate and how to align priorities.
