Wa n a m a s s a storm drainage improvement project Dear Resident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services held its first public meeting for the Wanamassa Storm Drainage Improvement Project on May 20, 2014, at Beatties Ford Road Public Library. The purpose of the meeting was to present the findings and discuss the results of the existing conditions analysis. Meeting highlights: • Project Manager Chad Nussman introduced the project team and explained surveyors have been in the neighborhood collecting data to complete an analysis of the watershed and existing drainage systems. • Mr. Nussman discussed the project history and explained 51 total requests have been reported to 311. • Russell Parker, engineering consultant with Armstrong Glen, presented the work performed to assess the drainage systems and summarized the findings of the study by highlighting problems found in the project area. Property owners confirmed the results of the existing conditions analysis. YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK • Mr. Nussman described the project phases: s Planning s Design s Permitting s Easement Acquisition s Bid and Award s Construction • Property owners looked at maps of their property to provide feedback and observations of any storm drainage in the area. • A question and answer session was held.
