Stoney Creek s t r e a m r e s t o r a t i o n p r o j e c t your storm water fees at work June 2008 Background/History of the Project: In an effort to improve water quality in your neighborhood, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (Storm Water Services), along with consulting engineers, Baker Engineering, are looking for opportunities to restore or enhance the stream channels that comprise the Upper Stoney Creek Stream Restoration Project. Current Status: Storm Water Services has finished the planning phase of the project. The next step is the completion of the preliminary design plans. In an effort to facilitate the acceptance of the design by property owners within the project limits, Baker Engineering has begun meeting individually with property owners. The intent is to facilitate discussions of potential impacts of the proposed design within requested easement locations. This is an opportunity for property owners to provide their input regarding preferences. Next Steps: • Complete the preliminary design plans • Finalize easement documents • Conclude the design phase • Obtain construction permits • Begin construction For more information about this project and schedule, please visit our website at http://stormwater.charmeck.org and click on Storm Water Projects, Storm Water Projects again, then Stoney Creek.
