Investing in Infrastructure
Charlotte has an aging public storm drainage system, much of which is past its
useful life. The City repairs, replaces and installs new storm drainage infrastructure
when it deteriorates or cannot handle increases in stormwater. Investing in
infrastructure protects public safety, guards private property, improves water
quality and enhances quality of life.
The Lyon Court Storm Drainage Improvement Project goals are to reduce flooding
of streets and structures, as well as reduce stream bank erosion by improving the
storm drainage infrastructure within the project area.
