City View storm drainage improvement project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK October 23, 2008 Dear Resident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services held a public meeting on September 23, 2008 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church for the City View Storm Drainage Improvement Project. The meeting introduced the project, presented the existing storm drainage conditions and preferred design alternative. Meeting highlights: • • • Mr. Chad Nussman, Project Manager, discussed the organization of the project team and provided a general overview of the Storm Water Services Program. Scott Sigmon, WK Dickson Project Manager, reviewed the results of the Existing Conditions phase and the proposed improvements to the streams in the area as well as the five culvert crossings (Campbell Creek Lane, Streamside Drive, Dorn Circle, Brook Crossing Court, and Dion Avenue). The planning phase is complete. The next meeting will be held near the end of preliminary design to present the proposed improvements to residents. The meeting concluded with breakout sessions that invited citizens to interact with the project team one-on-one. Dorn Circle Update: Construction plans for the new culvert are complete. It was discussed at the public meeting that easements need to be acquired from adjacent property owners before construction could take place. Storm Water Services staff is currently working with the Federal Government to obtain the final easement. Once it is signed, then construction will begin.
