Shamrock Gardens NIP Country Club Heights Neighborhood Public meeting results The second public meeting for the Shamrock Gardens Neighborhood Improvement Project was held on May 7, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The project team presented construction options identified for the neighborhood as a result of the comments received at the first public meeting. After the presentations, meeting attendees were given the opportunity to review the options in detail. Below is a list of the most favorable options. The nine projects are as follows: Option 1 – Airlie Street sidewalk from Shamrock to Hilliard and from Jeff to Country Club. Option 3 – Flamingo Ave sidewalk and curb from Shamrock to Hilliard. Option 4 – Springway Drive sidewalk and curb from Flamingo to dead end. Option 5 – Cardiff Ave sidewalk and curb from Hilliard to Palm. Option 7 – Hilliard Drive curb from Shamrock to Palm. Option 8 – Cheryl Street curb from Anne to Libeth. Option 9 – Ventosa Drive curb between Jeff and Cheryl. Option 10 - Libeth and Ventosa storm drainage inlet replacement. Option 11 - Springway Drive ditch reshaping from Eastway to dead end. Attendees were also given the opportunity to choose an option for: (bold represents option that was chosen): - Country Club Drive metal bridge railing replacement – City standard rail or picket style. Brixton Court Median – remove and pave or improve and provide landscaping. “Paper Streets” (unimproved street right-of-way) – do nothing, construct a full street section, construct a pedestrian/bike path with lighting, or construct a full street section at each intersection with a pedestrian/bike path between with lighting. Cardiff from Springway to Palm – construct a full street section Connecticut from Springway to Hilliard – construct pedestrian/bike path with lighting Springway from dead end to Flamingo - construct pedestrian/bike path with lighting Next public meeting A third public meeting to discuss the final project plan will be scheduled the end of July 2009. In the meantime, the project team welcomes additional input from residents who may not have been able to attend the second public meeting.
