Parkwood Phase 1 storm drainage improvement project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK May 21, 2013 Dear Resident or Property Owner/Manager, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services held the third public meeting for the Parkwood Phase 1 Storm Drainage Improvement Project April 23 at the Hal Marshall Center. The purpose was to review project design and to receive public input. • Meeting highlights: • Project Manager David Perry introduced the project team and provided a project update. • The project will be replacing culverts under Brevard, Parkwood, Caldwell, Davidson and Belmont. The project will also be permanently closing North Alexander Street just east of the intersection with Belmont Avenue. Work will be done along 12th Street between Brevard and College, on Belmont at Davidson, 15th at Davidson, and also on 16th Street at Caldwell. • The project should be completed by the end of 2017, with overall project construction lasting approximately two to three years. • Engineering & Property Management Storm Water Services Division 600 East Fourth Street Charlotte, North Carolina 28202 Parkwood Project Update HIGHLIGHTS FROM PUBLIC MEETING Real estate agents are working directly with affected property owners to acquire easements allowing construction to take place on their properties. Because the work benefits property owners in general, the City requests that easements be donated by property owners. A question and answer session was held.
