High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes Part III – 60 minutes Resources: Norm Steinman, Transportation Tim Gibbs, Transportation In August, Mayor Clodfelter referred the topic of HOT lanes to the Committee. Specifically, he asked the Committee to cover topics such as history, purposes, goals, and roles. In September, staff presented at two meetings information about history, purposes, and operations, and described the HOT Lanes projects programmed for US 74, I-485 (South), and I-77 (Independence Boulevard). Staff also explained how these and other projects in these corridors support the City’s land use and transportation goals. This will be the last of three discussions with the Committee. At this meeting, staff will review the key conclusions from the first two meetings, and then concentrate on roles and responsibilities.
