For that purpose the higher education system needs to be reshaped into a vivacious system by those factors such as the characteristic nature of higher education institution; international mobility of students and teachers; accessibility to computer-based learning; quest of research and scholarship and globalization of economy underscore the international background of higher education. Objective of the study was to study and analyze the promotion of higher education in British period in subcontinent. Documentary analysis was used for this study.
