Proceedings of 11th Asian Business Research Conference 26-27 December, 2014, BIAM Foundation, Dhaka, Bangladesh, ISBN: 978-1-922069-68-9 Designing an Optimal Supply Chain Network Opportunities by Considering Cost Data under Profit Maximization a Md. Mohibul Islam, bMd. Mashum Billal, cMd. Shah Alam and dMd. Mosharraf Hossain Nowadays the application of Supply Chain network design is increasing in most of the Industry in Bangladesh. But it is sometimes to be more complex to take the proper decision about where facilities should be located, how much capacity should be located to each facility because it is conflicting between cost and responsiveness. A profit maximizing supply chain network design model is presented in which all market demand is satisfied within the lead time as well as responsive supply chain is followed though some demand including high cost are to be fulfilled. Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) approach is applied to this network to realize the design effectively. In this study new facilitates is to be selected at a proper location and correspondingly of its mode of transportation based on transportation cost for maximizing the profit. Keywords: Supply Chain network design, Mixed Integer Linear Programming and mode of transportation. _______________________________________________ a Md.
