1). A reminder to all 8th grade students to be checking your email frequently. The high
school counselors are using this form of communication to answer questions you have
concerning course placement.
2). Mark your calendars Spring Lifetouch pictures will be taken April 6th.
3). Calling all performers of The Lion King Jr. Please come and see Mrs. Lindsay or Ms. Atlas for
our lost and found items from the musical. We have bags, clothing, and shoes that may
belong to you, please come and claim your things :)
4). Mc Henry County College will be hosting our 4th annual MCC Career Exploration Showcase
Night on April 13th from 5:30-7:30pm.While there come visit the “College and Career
Readiness Zone,” learn about Dual Credit opportunities & the importance of post –secondary
education and training.
5). Just a reminder that packets for the Color-A-Thon are due on April 20th. The Color-A-Thon
run is May 6th.
6). Any 8th graders interested in trying out for high school poms team please see Mr. Soltesz
ASAP.
7). Hola Chicos, El Club de Español /Spanish Club will meet Wednesday, April 6th. We will be
celebrating CARNAVAL (Carnaval) in the Spanish room/A216. Join us from 2:30pm to 3:45pm.

8). Greeting Newspaper Mustang Leaders, everyone is welcome to participate in our school's
electronic newspaper. Join us on Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 3:35pm in room A216.
9). Attention all students participating in this year’s Performance Readings Series, the first meeting
will be this Thursday after school until 3:45pm. MC’s will not meet before Thursday. However,
there is a dance audition workshop planned tonight and Tuesday night from 5:30-7:30pm.
Please meet in the 8-2 pod. There is as ballet audition/workshop for serious dancers
Thursday from 2:30-5:30pm, also meeting in 8-2.

PARENT ANNOUNCEMENT
If you have the PowerSchool application on your cell phone and have opted in to receive notifications, you
may receive an alert saying your student is absent for certain periods. If your child is absent and you have
already called the absentee line prior to the alert, you do not have to call the absentee line again. Your student's
attendance will be updated. If you have not called in your child's attendance, please call the absentee line at
847-659-4711. If you prefer to not receive this attendance alert notification, you can deactivate it through the
mobile app by going to Settings > Notifications > uncheck Attendance; this should cancel the notifications.
