Educated at the Universities of Buckingham, Durham and Cambridge, he is the author of several works, including The New Politics of Islam: Pan-Islamic Foreign Policy in a World of States (Routledge) and Saudi State, Wahhabi World: The Globalization of Muslim Radicalism (Praeger). He has held fellowships at Harvard, Hosei (Tokyo) and Notre Dame, and has presented papers to academic, policy and activist communities in Europe, North America and Asia.
