Biography of Hidenori Oda Hidenori Oda, Senior Manager, Voice Application Platform Group, IT Development Division, KDDI Corporation Mr. Hidenori Oda started his career as a transmission systems engineer with Japanese overseas telecommunication operator KDD in 1978. From 1983 he worked for the joint development of the first optical submarine cable across the Pacific Ocean with AT&T Bell Labs. From 1987 he worked for the development of SDH with contributing to the standardization activity in CCITT SG15. From 1993 to 1997 he served as the chairman of the technical working groups of two international submarine cable systems - TPC-5 and APCN. From 1999 to 2001 he acted a main role in the standardization of “Road Communication Standard” – a standard for Japan’s road operators. He is now responsible for the development of voice service platform, as a Senior Manager of Voice Application Platform Group, IT Development Division, KDDI Corporation, Japan's second largest telecommunications operator.
